Quality Parts For Vehicle Modification

Those who want to customize their vehicle with the right parts need to check out motor fiend. The people who work there are passionate about vehicles and making some innovative products more available to the public. Some of the products they sell can have a big impact on the way a car looks without any complicated installation problems. There are several lighting products that fit in this category.

They are an excellent source of HID headlights. These are high-intensity discharge lights that convert more energy into visible light and less into heat. This means they are far more efficient than any other types of lamp and they are brighter. Installation is not that difficult and they will even send a guide to install the new lights to anyone who orders them. This is a valuable upgrade that makes any vehicle more recognizable and easier to see when it is approaching. This is a smart upgrade for anyone to think about, not just those who are customizing their car for looks. Other lighting products available are add-on fog lights, HID spotlights, and daytime running lights.

There is also an interesting collection of electronic devices for the interior of the vehicle. These include headrest DVD monitors and digital video recorders. The professionals that work here are not just passionate about cars, but electronics. This combination is what led them to organize a collection of parts and products for upgrading a vehicle. These take advantage of the latest technology and most intriguing new opportunities. While some people rely on a shop to upgrade their cars, those with the skills to do it on their own have a chance to save a lot of money. This is where a connection with a company that cares about getting the right part to their customers is important.

Customer service is a crucial element of any online business to make sure they get the right part the first time. It is also a key way to help customers when they have questions about installation. Using the Internet to find the right part and have it shipped is a valuable resource and a great example of how this business model can work effectively.

When Looking At Online Bookies

It is the dog days of summer in terms of sports. Football is just going into training camps, hockey and basketball just ended, and baseball is in the middle of the season doldrums. With all of that in mind, it may seem like there is not a lot going on in sports. While there are some major gold tournaments, and the US Open tennis tournament coming up, the daily sporting menu tends to focus around baseball. For those who like baseball, and like to bet on baseball, this is fine; for those who are looking for something more, though, it si important to know that football season is just around the corner. For those who are looking to put money down on football games, now is the time to do all of the prep on your favorite teams and to take a look at the online bookies that are out there.

Football is the kind of sport where people don’t just bet on wins and loses, they bet on lines and the performances of individual players. The more that one looks into it, the more that they will find that there are dozens of bets that a person can make on a game, from how the quarterback does on his passing efficiency, to the score at the end of the first quarter. Many casual fans may simply stick with the simple “line” scores, while other people are going to be more inclined to do some other work. When you are looking for online bookies, you want to find someone who is going to be able to deal with your bets.

For those who have a favorite team that they want to bet on, it is always important to be informed on what one is betting on. Unless you simply want to put money down on a player or team that you like, not carrying whether you get the money back, you are going to want to take advantage of all of the info that is available over the Internet to get the info that you need on the bets you are looking to make.

How To Attract Women’s Attention

One thing you will have to know is that when it comes to approaching women, the girl would have made her mind on whether to talk with you or otherwise even before you say hello!!

The Warm Up

It’s exactly about warming up to the act. There are hundreds of women around you at a party or for your workplace, as well as there a hundred men there too.

Now the facts that will give you the winning edge over everything the other men to acquire in the good books of the best woman within the hundred? Well, it’s not at all hard, it’s the little things, filled with loads of balls and brains. It’s about crossing the enemy lines but nonetheless playing safe.

Now now… don’t get confused. I was just trying to get dramatic!

The Posture

You have always to be aware your posture, wherever you might be.

Always remember, one or the opposite woman is definitely watching you, and one bad move is one worthy impression lost!

Have a straight back, and walk using the air of an man returning coming from a battle won. Haven’t you seen movies where the hero always walks out of your plane inside the last scene of a movie, having a cigar in his hand and the triumphant look on his face? That’s the individual a woman always wants to get with, a victor. A man who always wins, no matter what.

And your posture will be the first step to proclaim that you’re a victor. You don’t see successful slouching or a sore loser walking tall, would you?

The Look

Firstly, allowed this to fine lady understand that you want to learn her. We don’t need any glowing neon signs just for this. You just need the eyes. It’s that glance that will get the fire crackling. That one single glance that can melt hearts, and it’s have got to come from you! However stupid this might sound, practice your “I’m Hot!” look!

Look at yourself in the mirror each morning, allow an appreciative glance, and discover if you will find yourself for your best. This look is most beneficial noticed when you shave! It’s not so different from the way you normally look, however, you know you appear better. It’s that seem to be that makes you say, ‘Damn, I’m good!’

This look incorporates practice, but if you’re a rookie, I’d suggest you don’t use ‘the look’ around women until you’re confident about this, when you would only be similar to one of the million wannabes you will find everywhere.

Amazon’s Table Is A Service Not A Tablet

I think this is really interesting.  Maybe you’ve heard of Amazon’s new tablet for $199.  That’s a really attractive price hey?  It almost makes you want to just run out and get one because they’re so cheap.  I suspect that’s exactly what Amazon wants us to do.  They want to flood the market with these low cost tablets that they can then use to help sell more Amazon stuff.  Amazing Idea:

Jeff Bezos is channeling Steve Jobs. Its mid-September and the wiry billionaire founder of Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) is at his brand new corporate headquarters in Seattle, in a building named Day One South after his conviction that 17-year-old Amazon is still in its infancy.

Almost giddy with excitement, Bezos retrieves one by one the new crop of dirt-cheap Kindle e-readers — they start at $79 — from a hidden perch on a chair tucked into a conference room table. When hes done showing them off, he stands up, and, for an audience of a single journalist, announces, Now, Ive got one more thing to show you. He waits a half-beat to make sure the reference to Jobs famous line from Apple Inc. (AAPL) presentations hasnt been missed, then gives his notorious barking laugh.

With that, Bezos pulls out the Kindle Fire, Amazons long- anticipated tablet computer — and the first credible response to the Apple iPad, Bloomberg Businessweek reports in its Oct. 3 edition.

Unlike a wave of other tablets that have emerged hopefully only to flop, such as the Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ) TouchPad, the Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. Xoom, and the Research in Motion Ltd. (RIM) PlayBook, the Kindle Fire has a good shot at turning the newest theater of war in high-tech into a two-tablet battle.

With a 7-inch display, the Fire is about half the size of the iPad. At $199, its also less than half the price of the cheapest Apple model. Amazon has painted over the rough surfaces of Google Inc. (GOOG)s Android operating system with a fresh and easy- to-use interface and tied the device closely to its own large and growing content library. Kindle Fire owners can watch the film Rio, scroll through magazines such as The New Yorker or Esquire, and access their music collection on Amazons servers.

Is Our Nation At A Crossroads?

I found this article in the Huffington Post.  I think it brings up a lot of good points as to where our contry stands these days.  With an election comming up in the next year it always makes me think it’s time for a change.  And That’s a change I don’t think Obama was able to deliver yet.  Give it a read and let me know what you think:

In 1776 our founding fathers met and pledged to each other and to us, their descendants, their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor. In the Declaration of Independence, they established that men have been endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that governments are established solely as a vehicle for securing those Rights, and that it is the right and indeed the duty of the people to replace any government or agents of government that abuse these Rights.

Their Declaration further stated that under certain circumstances, replacement of the government was both justified and necessary. Eleven years later, after eight years of war, they met in convention and established by written constitution the limits and structure of that new government and formed a Republic, The United States of America.

Since that time, we the People, the benefactors of that more perfect Union, fought a great Civil War, two World Wars, a fifty year Cold War, and numerous regional conflicts to preserve, protect, and defend that Constitution, that Nation, and the Rights they were mutually established to secure. During the two hundred and thirty-five year history of our nation, we have multiplied and flourished and developed a relative degree of economic, military, political, and social influence unrivaled in human history. All humanity has benefited from our achievements.

Moreover from our first social contract, the Mayflower Compact, through our Declaration of Independence and the drafting of our Constitution, we have envisioned ourselves a people apart. Not only a nation founded on unique principles, we are infused with a singular sense of moral purpose. We are not just a great people; we are a good people.

Now our nation is again at a crossroads. Our position of global preeminence, our capacity to create opportunity, and our individual rights, the most fundamental basis for our system of government, are under unprecedented assault. The threat comes not from some distant shore or from internal divisions. It comes, as it did at the inception of our nation, from a governing aristocracy that has set itself apart, exceeded its legitimate authority, and passed laws and regulations that take away our constitutional rights, limit opportunity, and undermine the birthright of future generations.

This political class has set us on an unsustainable course that if continued will bankrupt our country, destroy our way of life, and endanger the entire community of nations. Unless constrained, they will leave us with greater political, economic, and social division than at any time since the Civil War, and ultimately strip the world of the protection and inspiration of its one indispensable nation.

Abortion Views Don’t Seem To Hurt Mit Romney

Now that the elections are getting reved up we all have to start thinking about the big issues.  What can be bigger than abortion?  Mit Romeny has had some strong views and it looks like it might not even hurt him that bad:

Land said he has heard Romney publicly tell stories about researching embryonic research and recognizing that the embryos are human life.

But he recognizes that not every evangelical voter feels the same way because of Romney’s past.

“Not all evangelicals have had the chance to hear him say it personally,” he said.

Still, Land said evangelicals would turn out in a potential general election match-up between President Barack Obama and Romney, if only to vote against Obama.

“That’s what’s ironic about Romney … they know who they’re voting for,” Land said. “In large part, they feel he’s not Mormon enough. If he had the same position on life and on marriage the Mormon faith has, there wouldn’t be a question.”

“The fact is that he’s so far off the reservation that there are lingering concerns about whether he’s really committed to the pro-life cause,” he said.

Land says Christians and evangelicals are more familiar with Mormonism because their preachers have explained the religion to them. He said that makes them possibly more accepting of Mormonism than people with other religious beliefs.

This article first appeared on POLITICO Pro at 4:15 p.m. on November 3, 2011.

At the core, Romney’s fairly conservative. He obviously had to go to the center to get elected in Massachusett’s. I don’t think conservatives need to worry about him going back to the center on those issues. He’d be a socially conservative president.

However, Romney won’t go out of his way to make social issues a top priority. If elected, his mandate would be to get the economy going again. In my opinion.

Choices and Chances – Does America Know the Difference?

The stimulus bills one and two are being heralded as the best way to jumpstart the economy. If representatives had been listening to the American people as they were elected to do there would be no stimulus bill. The political class decided that we were too dumb to decide such an important matter and our choice was ignored.

We are about to take a chance on the repeal of the military’s ‘don’t ask – don’t tell’ rule. We will be crushing the choice that millions of young people want to make by leaving the matter of sexual preference at the door of civilian life and getting on with unhindered service to their country. Unseen or unrecognized is the possibility that taking this chance will change the choice of untold numbers of young men and women to join the military at all.

The healthcare proposals now stalled in both houses included language that warned us that we would be taking a chance on being fined or jailed if we didn’t get the proper coverage. No choice here but even worse, how could such a law be enforced? Would the government be forced to issue IDs and then run spot checks of its citizens to see if they were complying? Would a PIN number be like a vehicles VIN number? Maybe they could engage electronic monitoring systems like OnStar to keep tabs on us remotely and turn in the offenders at regular intervals. How do you spell big brother?

We have been told that we should take a chance on engaging our enemies around the world in dialogue and diplomacy in all instances. Our choice to walk softly in some cases and use the big stick in others has been tabled for the moment which leaves only one pertinent question. How’s that been working? Let’s not make a long list of failures or mention the contempt that extremists

Insurance Companies and the Profit Myth

President Obama is devoted to eliminating all the myths that exist around the Health Care Reform plans. However, the Administration is one of the main sources of those myths.

One of the myths that the Obama Administration is pushing is that the government will be able to provide health care cheaper as they will be able to cut out all the insurance company profits. In fact, he often refers to “those huge insurance company profits”. The President is either trying to mislead people or is ignorant of how a business operates.

From conversations that I have had, I belive that many people are misinformed. I have heard people talk about the evil insurance companies and their 1000% profit increases or the immoral insurance company 150% profit. With comments similar to those being floated on TV, I am sure that people do not understand or know the truth.

For starters, many people don’t know what a profit is or how it is calculated. A company’s profit equals its revenue minus expenses. More simply, the cash it takes in minus all the bills it has to pay. And as pointed out in a post over at HotAir.com, insurance companies only keep 4 to 5 cents for every dollar they take in which is 4 to 5% profit and not anywhere near 150%.

The simple example of a grocery store can help explain. When you spend $100 dollars at the grocery store, that $100 dollars is the revenue that the store receives. However, that $100 is not profit. Assuming the grocery store has a 50% markup on the products you bought, they had to pay $50 dollars for the goods that you bought. That leaves them $50 dollars in profits right? Wrong. They still have to pay the employees, pay the utilities, advertising, rent, and other expenses. Then, what ever is left over after paying those expenses is taxed. What is left over is the profit which is kept by the company.

A Truly Remarkable Woman

My 2.5 regular readers have probably realised that as an ex- Australian male now reincarnated with a Swiss nationality, I possess all the attributes necessary to claim a chauvinistic title. Misogynist, macho, arrogantly male and patriarchal. But then I moved to Switzerland nearly 10 years ago and changed my outlook. I became even more misogynist, macho and arrogantly male. It was such a natural progression in such a patriarchal country.

However, within a year of moving her, a woman named Micheline Calmy-Rey was elected to a seat in the Swiss Federal Council. Her election also made her the Swiss Foreign Minister. Within days, I realised that this woman was truly remarkable. Now, eight years later I realise I was wrong. She was not remarkable, she was uniquely the only woman I have ever known who has achieved the difficult balance of power, respect and femininity. She is what the feminists of the seventies were fighting for, but never realising what form it should take.

Micheline Calmy-Rey is a mother, grandmother, negotiator, pacifier, and ultimate politician. She infects you with a sense of pride in being Swiss and conveys the reality in what is meant by what we call in Switzerland, active neutrality. When she smiles, you fall in love. When she frowns and scowls, you listen and respect. When she reasons, you cannot help but understand. When she argues, it is with passion and true belief.

In my mind, the one quality that separates Micheline Calmy-Rey from other women in the world who hold political office, is that she never tries to be equal or better than her male colleagues and counterparts. She remains herself and doesn’t enter any form of competition. She is who she is. Take it or leave it. Truly beautiful and feminine smiles that would woo any man within 100 miles.

Figureheads Change but the Song Remains the Same

When former Attorney General, Alberto Gonzales resigned in disgrace last year, it was hoped that his successor, Michael Mukasey would return professionalism to the Justice Department.  The Department of Justice traditionally sidesteps the partisan politics that plague other departments.  Charged with enforcing the laws of the land; their duties can and sometimes include prosecuting the very people responsible for appointing them.  Which is why the politicization of the Department under Gonzales’ direction (who most likely was taking orders from Karl Rove), was viewed so harshly, ultimately leading to his resignation.

Originally, Mukasey was seen as a staunch conservative with essentially the same worldview as Bush but still, a man that could act independently enough to do the job he was appointed for.  This is what Glenn Greenwald wrote when Mukasey’s name first surfaced as Gonzales’ replacement,

There is no question that Judge Mukasey, a Reagan appointee who served as the Chief Judge for the Southern District of New York before retiring recently, is close to the far right on the judicial spectrum. He undoubtedly holds many legal and political views which most Democrats would find objectionable, perhaps even intolerable. But that will be true of any nominee Bush selects, and it is true of the current Acting Attorney General, Paul Clement, who will remain in place if no nominee is confirmed.

I want to highlight one extremely relevant consideration concerning Judge Mukasey — the impressive role he played in presiding over the Jose Padilla case in its earliest stages. After Padilla was first detained in April 2002 and declared an “enemy combatant,” he was held incommunicado, denied all access to the outside the world, including counsel, and the Bush administration refused to charge him with any crimes. A lawsuit was filed on Padilla’s behalf by a New York criminal defense lawyer, Donna Newman, demanding that Padilla be accorded the right to petition for habeas corpus and that, first, he be allowed access to a lawyer. That lawsuit was assigned to Judge Mukasey, which almost certainly made the Bush DOJ happy.

But any such happiness proved to be unwarranted. Judge Mukasey repeatedly defied the demands of the Bush administration, ruled against them, excoriated them on multiple occasions for failing to comply with his legally issued orders, and ruled that Padilla was entitled to contest the factual claims of the government and to have access to lawyers. He issued these rulings in 2002 and 2003, when virtually nobody was defying the Bush administration on anything, let alone on assertions of executive power to combat the Terrorists. And he made these rulings in the face of what was became the standard Bush claim that unless there was complete acquiescence to all claimed powers by the President, a Terrorist attack would occur and the blood would be on the hands of those who impeded the President.

Unfortunately, Greenwald’s optimism proved to be unfounded.  The first cracks in Mukasey’s “independent” façade occurred with his confirmation hearing when he refused to declare the interrogation technique of waterboarding as illegal.  It only went downhill from there.  Included among his exploits are, his apparent lie in support of Bush’s blatantly un-Constitutional and illegal spying on Americans, and his refusal to enforce the Congressional subpoenas issued to White House aides, Harriet Miers, Joshua Bolten and Karl Rove.

And now, if there was any doubt left that he’s no more than a Bush loyalist, eager to do Bush’s bidding, Mukasey has publicly announced that he won’t pursue the prosecutions of Justice Department officials that were guilty of politicizing the department, the very scandal that removed Gonzales as Attorney General.  Unbelievably, Mukasey’s explanation, in a speech before the American Bar Association, was that the people involved have suffered enough, (h/t Think Progress)

That does not mean, as some people have suggested, that those officials who were found by the joint reports to have committed misconduct have suffered no consequences. Far from it. The officials most directly implicated in the misconduct left the Department to the accompaniment of substantial negative publicity. … To put it in concrete terms, I doubt that anyone in this room would want to trade places with any of those people. (emphasis added)

Since when is it the Attorney General’s job to decide exactly what punishment lawbreakers deserve?  That’s supposed to be the job for a judge not the prosecutor.  His rationalizations only get more confused,

I am well aware that some people have called on me and on the Department to take even more drastic steps than those I have described. For example, some commentators have suggested that we should criminally prosecute the people found in the reports to have committed misconduct. Where there is evidence of criminal wrongdoing, we vigorously investigate it. And where there is enough evidence to charge someone with a crime, we vigorously prosecute. But not every wrong, or even every violation of the law, is a crime. In this instance, the two joint reports found only violations of the civil service laws. (emphasis added)

“Not every violation of the law[] is a crime?”  From which parallel universe is that true?  A violation of the law is the very definition of a “crime,” and it certainly can’t be argued that these “violations of the law” were too minor to be concerned with; this scandal is one of the biggest to hit this country in recent memory.  That it isn’t the biggest scandal is only because of the unmatched lawlessness of the Bush administration overall.  Clearly it’s to Bush that Mukasey’s loyalties lie, rather than to the Constitution, the rule of law or the very people he’s sworn to serve.  Mukasey has yet to show any of the independence or integrity his position deserves.  In fact, Mukasey has proven to be no better than his disgraced predecessor.
